Sterling Porter, II, CPA PC received his Bachelor’s of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC. He completed a Master’s of Science in Accounting from Keller Graduate School of Management in December 2013. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the state of Georgia. He brings over ten years of experience with positions in both public and industry accounting. His experience includes four years in public accounting at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP. There he began his career as an Associate in the Audit Practice in the Private Company Services Group before eventually being promoted to Senior Associate. He also has experience in industry accounting including an SEC Reporting role (as both a Senior Accountant and Manager) and a Consolidations Accounting role. In October 2012, he opened Sterling Porter, CPA, PC (doing business as Sterling Porter, II, CPA), with an office currently in Stone Mountain, Georgia, and began offering excellent service in the form of bookkeeping, compilations and tax planning and preparation.
Sterling has also volunteered his time with the National Association of Black Accountants in various roles including teaching financial literacy tools to students at different schools in the Atlanta area. He has also volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, the Marietta Youth Detention Center and other organizations. He serves as an Usher Captain and Elder at his local church. He donates generously to his local church and alma mater.
